Nigeria: Iroha praises Nigeria's Super Eagles

Former Nigerian international, Ben Iroha, has showered praises on the Super Eagles on their draw with Brazil on Sunday. The friendly match which was held in Singapore's National Stadium ended with one goal each for both countries.

Joe Aribo, who made his first debut for Nigeria against Ukraine, struck again as he scored the first goal in the match for Nigeria. This goal could not stop the Samba Boys as Casemire found the back of the net to make it equal.

The former Super Eagles defender says he was impressed with the performance of the Nigerian team as they played better than they did against Ukraine. He said that they were properly organized on Sunday...
I’m impressed, honestly. Not just because of the 1-1 result, no. It's just always about who wins but how did the team play. How did they respond to the coaches match plan and how the players, as a team, respond to difficult moments. I must say the Eagles were good in their organization. They showed a lot of maturity and character which to me, shows a remarkable improvement from their games at the Nations Cup and the friendly match against Ukraine

Iroha, who played in USA '94, had more to say...

“Even under pressure from the Brazilians, the Eagles did not lose their character, they did not panic, neither did they lose concentration. They played as a team, defended as a unit and going forward together. It was good and I really enjoyed the way they played”.

Gernot Rohr would be proud of the boys' effort as they continue to prepare for the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.
