Darmian Matteo has completed his $4.3million signing to Parmain Italy. He has spent four years in Old Trafford and has decided to go back to his homeland. The full-back was signed from Torino by Van Gaal in 2015.

The 29-year-old player has made a total of 60 appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils and scored only one goal which was against Crystal Palace in 2016. He also kept 20 clean sheets. Gunnar foresaw this as he said in a statement during Smalling's transfer that "he sees Darmian preparing to go back home soon". Never knew it would be so soon. The player made it clear that he was really excited about the move with this statement when he was interviewed by Tuttosport.

"A club of this importance is impossible to refuse. I'm really glad I chose this experience abroad."

Matteo Darmian is the fourth United's player to be moving to Serie A after Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (loan), who moved to Inter Milan and Chris Smalling who moved to AS Roma on loan.

What does the future hold for Matteo Darmian in Parma?
