UEFA: Ex Manchester United Player Receives UEFA Award

UEFA is ready to honor Eric Cantona with the 2019 UEFA President's Award. Cantona is a former Manchester United player who retired over 22 years ago from football.

He will receive his award during the UEFA Champions League group stage draw on Thursday in Monaco the UEFA Award from Aleksander Ceferin for his wonderful contribution to the game.

The award not only recognizes the 53-year old's career as a great player with a unique talent, style, and charisma. It also honors him for who he is and has become.

David Beckham also said that Eric was special and had an aura about him. In his words, he said the former Red Devil's player was the KING OF OLD TRAFFORD and that's the way he should always be remembered.

The former French international is a five-time English Premier League winner and also won four Premier League titles with Manchester United and one other with Leeds United.

Last year's winner was David Beckham, who played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain as well as Los Angeles Galaxy in the U.S.
