SPORTS: OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS FACES NORTH CAROLINA COURAGE IN THE INT'L CHAMPIONS CUP FINALS


Olympique Lyonnais and North Carolina Courage have succeeded in getting to the finals of the Women's International Champions Cup tournament as they were victorious in their various matches.

Olympique Lyonnais won their match against Atlético Madrid with only one goal from Wendie Renard while North Carolina Courage defeated Manchester City in a match that ended with two goals to one. Georgia Stanway scored the first goal of the match for Manchester City but McKenzie Meehan leveled the scores in the 84th minute. Before stoppage time, Jessica McDonald scored the winning goal that pushed North Carolina Courage forward.

On Sunday, August 18, Atlético Madrid would play Manchester City in the third-place finals by 10pm while the finals would be played by 12:30am on Monday to determine, between Olympique Lyonnais and North Carolina Courage, who the Women's International Champions Cup winner would be.
